Sarah and Bill’s engagement session in Birmingham this month was such a blast! The weather couldn’t have been better—sunny, warm, and perfect for walking around the city together. As we explored downtown, I had the best time getting to know them more, and it was easy to see how much fun they have together. The old buildings and unique architecture made the perfect backdrops, just what Sarah had in mind when planning their session.
Engagement sessions are such an important part of the wedding photography process. Not only do they give me the chance to learn about my couple’s personalities and how they interact with each other, but they also help the couple feel more confident in front of the camera. Think of it as a practice run—by the time the wedding day arrives, posing feels natural, the nerves are gone, and couples can just focus on enjoying their day. Plus, engagement photos are a beautiful way to capture this season of life and celebrate the excitement leading up to the wedding.
We finished up at the park, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The sunset gave us the most beautiful golden light, adding such a natural glow to their photos. Sarah and Bill are tying the knot this fall, and after such a fun session, I’m really looking forward to capturing their big day!
Here are a few of my favorites!
