Tonight on the blog I’m featuring Kristie and Paul’s Rochester, Michigan wedding which took place in December at St. Peter’s Lutheran church and was followed up by a reception at Twin Lakes Golf Club. I had the pleasure of capturing their engagement photos earlier this year – they are both so kind and clearly in love with each other! Kristie took an approach slightly different than other brides and did not have me come to take photos of her getting ready. This allowed for more time for photos with the bridal party at the start of the day and the reception at the end of the day. We had plenty of time and didn’t have to rush. We started the day at doing a first look and bridal party photos. It was a fairly cold, Michigan day but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the photos! Everyone was really a trooper and did a great job managing the chilly weather! From there we went to St. Peters for the ceremony. No flash was allowed during the ceremony but we were still able to capture so many great shots. It’s important to talk about this with your photographer prior to your wedding if there will be no flash allowed. Some people are more comfortable with this than others and you want to make sure your photographer is able to manage these settings. Following the ceremony, Kristie and Paul had already done all of the bridal party photos so we were able to head to downtown Rochester to see the Christmas lights and do photos that were just focused on them! This was really great because it gave them some time to hang out together on their wedding day without everyone else. The final stop was the reception at Twin Lakes Golf Club in Rochester. It was the perfect final setting for their wedding day and everyone had a blast dancing the night away.
Here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding day!
